Good to know: ·Team members will be able to relax and gather between races in the team village. We encourage you to bring a team tent. The tent can be up to 10’ by 10’ square and 8’ tall or smaller. Your team will be given a specific location in the team village, as indicated on a village map we’ll provide before the event. The team village will be located in a parking lot, so you will need to bring weights for your tent legs in case it is windy. Bring chairs, snacks, games and decorations for your tent.

·Paddling teams are known for being lively and having loads of fun. We encourage you to develop a team cheer to chant as you are preparing to paddle. Not only will your team have fun chanting it, the crowd will be able to feel your excitement, as well. Some teams are even bantering online through social media in advance — what will your team do?
·We encourage you to create a team theme and dress in costume. Costumes must be family-friendly and appropriate for racing.
·Most of your needs for participation are provided for you: oThe boat, personal flotation devices and dragon boat experts. On race day, there will also be a medical response team. oPorta potty facilities will be set up on the grounds. ·Paddlers, drummers and steerspersons must wear nonslip shoes or sandals with a heel strap (Crocs, water shoes, athletic shoes) at all times. Flip flops are not allowed. ·You may wear knee pads, seat cushions and/or gloves. Personal flotation devices ·We will provide adult personal flotation devices with adjustable straps. These will accommodate most adults; flotation device sizes correspond with adult t-shirt sizes small through XXL. ·The adult flotation devices are frequently used at many festivals and occasionally have a special “fragrance” that some people may find unpleasant. You are welcome to bring your own personal flotation device as long as it is USCG (U.S. Coast Guard) approved. If it is an inflatable personal flotation device, it must be charged and worn as designed in front of the torso. ·If you feel the provided floatation devices may not accommodate your size and stature, please bring your own. Team spirit awards Spectators and participants will be voting for their favorite team tent, best dressed drummer and team spirit award. Individuals may cast their vote at the Queen’s tent located in the Team Village. Votes will be awarded during the awards ceremony. We encourage all team members to vote. Be sure to dress to impress and show teamwork, enthusiasm and sportsmanship.

Can teams fundraise: Yes!! Once your team is registered, you will have a team and person page you are welcome to share and fundraise to help support local area Cancer Services! It is only of goodwill and is not an obligation, so please know you are not required to fundraise to be a part of this incredible event.
